Kpoko-Kpoko
These rattles are hand carved by some of the finest woodworkers in eastern Nigeria. It is not traditionally used as a musical instrument, but as more of a tool by herbalists and in masquerade dances. In herbalist shrines it is used when consulting an Oracle. Also, when an herbalist is praying for someone his servant will shake the Kpoko-Kpoko. The rattles feature many interesting carvings for decoration.
