Description

Custom made one at a time with one piece hardwood shells from Africa and a sturdy hand crafted metal tuning system. We pick the skins carefully; medium-thin thickness cowhide on the small drum for sharp high pitched slaps, medium-thick to thicker cowhide on the larger drum for a fat thuddy and resonant tone. Tuned tightly, the high-low contrast supported by the weight of the instrument and beefiness of it’s skins allow a player full freedom of expression.
