Ekpiri Seed
$28.00 – $48.00
Description
The ekpiri is a special type of seed husk that produces a lively musical sound. It is hard thick walled seed, smooth and shiny with a loud glassy and aggressive sound that will cut through when needed. This type of seed is native to the South-Central region of Nigeria. A few different shaker-rattle configurations are available including hand held types with a nylon loop handle, or with the seeds attached to a braided natural fiber belt that can be wrapped around an artist’s leg or waist to add sound to their movements.
