Motherland Quality Drums Shells more than a hollow log
The essence of a drum, the other parts will be replaced as they serve their purpose. The wood drum shell is the foundation that supports everything, long live the spirit of wood! The two basic shell types are either carved from a solid tree trunk, or built with staves. Generally the one piece carved shells are made in West Africa using traditional drum woods, the staved shells are made at Motherland Music using native American woods. If you are interested assembling your own drum we can help you by supplying a variety of drum shell types including: djembe, doundoun, bata, conga, talking drum, bongo, and custom made shells per your specifications.
